This listing is for our most simple and easy to use escape room/printball/airsoft/milsim/laser-tag bomb props! Meet the "Pulsar". We create the electronics, and you make it your own! The video above offers a full demonstration of how this unit works. It features 10x LEDs that act as a countdown timer. There are four green LEDs, three yellow LEDs, and three red LEDs that each represent a time frame of one minute. The fixed game-time is ten minutes. There are two LED buttons that act to arm and disarm this set. There is a key-switch set that allows for fast power-up and power-down. The loud siren that is included is EXTREMELY loud, and it pluges neatly into the main processor board. The LEDs all have a diameter of 5mm.
How It Works:
The best way to get a handle on how this set works is to watch the above video. The functionality is very simple. When you power this unit up, all of the LEDs and LED buttons will pulse on and off slowly. This looks very nice, especially in the dark. The videos and the pictures cannot do it justice. Not even close.
After the LEDs/buttons pulse on and off a few times, the red and green LED buttons will flash for a short time, and then the pulsing on and off of all LEDs/buttons will occur, and this will cycle. This is the "System-Ready" sequence. During the sequence when the LED buttons are flashing, press and hold both the red and green buttons until the sequence of the LEDs change to a rainbow effect. Let go of the buttons.
Once the rainbow sequence ends, all LEDs will flash on and off roughly three times a second. Due to the fact that each LED represents 60-seconds of time, after each minute elapses, one LED will stop flashing. This starts from the left (Green side), and ends on the right (Red side). When all four of the green LEDs have stopped flashing, you have six minutes to deactivate the prop. After all of the green and yellow LEDs have stopped flashing, you have three minutes left to deactivate the prop. When the second last red LED stops flashing, you have only one minute left to disarm the prop. If 10 minutes elapses, and no one has disarmed the prop, then the alarm will sound, and BOY IS IT LOUD!
Disarming The Prop & Deactivating The Siren:
This is the easy part. To start a game, you press both buttons at the same time. To disarm the bomb prop, all that you have to do is press both buttons again at the same time. What you can do is extend the button cables so that this requires two people. If you own an indoor arena, then you can also consider mounting one button on one wall, and one on another. Press and hold both buttons to arm, and do the same to disarm. Once you've disarmed the prop, it will enter the "System-Ready" sequence again, and wait for a new game. The function is as easy as pie. We sell many more complicated props, but this prop is made for the eyes. You can also easily substitute your own LEDs with the LEDs provided with the kit. If you have questions about this, you can ask.
As for disarming the siren, if you've let the time run out, and the siren is blaring, what should you do? You guessed it. Press both buttons to reset the system back into "System-Ready" mode. HOWEVER... If you've let the timer run out, the siren will stay on for a minimum of five seconds before you can disarm it. This is so that everyone knows what has happened. You don't want for the game to end, and for someone to deactivate the siren a quarter of a second after it was triggered, do you?
Some Preliminary Things To Note:
1) This device comes assembled, but without a casing. It is up to the user to mount the main boards, the buttons, the key-power switch, and the loud siren. the main board, and the siren have mounting holes, and the buttons/key-power switch have nuts on them so that you can easily mount them through a drill hole. However, for the sake of testing, and because I have to ship this set with the key-module soldered, you will have to de-solder and resolder the key-module after mounting. The siren has the option of using a two-sided tape strip on the back of the siren. Simply remove the protective layer, and stick your siren to your project box.
2) A solid 9-12v power supply is required (Not included). If the voltage at the input drops below 7v, the device will likely have issues when the siren is enabled. This unit requires less than 10mA of current when the LEDs are off, and when the siren is off. When the siren is enabled, it can take up to 500mA. It is suggested that the user use a 9-12VDC power supply capable of sourcing AT LEAST 500mA.
