This listing is for one of our themed escape room props. Meet the ELE "Extinction Level Event" escape room prop set. This prop tells the story of impending doom and extinction. The story goes like this: Fourteen days ago, the NASA space centre detected an asteroid the size of Wyoming on a direct collision course with Earth. The nuclear super powers of the world have teamed up to launch a super warhead strike against the asteroid. As the players, you must find the three keys, insert them all into the three key slots, and turn them all to the right simultaneously to launch the nuclear strike against the asteroid before the time runs out. If time runs out before you're able to do this, then the asteroid has reached minimum save distance. In which case, you lose.
How it works:
Setting the game up is easy. As soon as you power up, you can choose between game times of 30/45/60 minutes. This is explained in detail in the above video manual. You simply need to turn the middle key right, and press the red button after power up to choose a 45 minute game. You can select 30 minute games by turning the left key and middle key to the right during power up, and then pressing the red button. The default game time is 60 minutes. To choose 60 minutes games, simply leave all keys in the default (left) position on power up, and press the red button. When the game starts, the unit will tell you to make sure that all keys are turned to the left. From here, the game master hides the keys in the puzzles that they've created for this game.
Once all keys are in the default (left) position, the unit will begin to repeat "Press the red button to start the game". The game master can then leave the room, and invite players into the room. The players are responsible for starting the game by pressing the red button. Once the red button is pressed, the unit (which connects to your room stereo system) offers a long introduction of the game, including game instructions. Once the unit stops talking, the countdown timer starts, and the game really begins.
What happens in keys aren't turned at the same time?
The unit will specifically say that the keys were not turned simultaneously, and it will repeat the instruction to turn all keys back to the default state until all keys are in fact, back in the left (default state).
How to win:
Find all three keys, insert them into the three key slots, and turn them all to the right at the same time (within 200ms of each other). When this happens, the timer turns off, the relay turns on, and the unit tells you that you've won.
How to lose:
When time runs out, you lose. The unit vocally makes this very clear to the players.
The external relay board:
The external relay board is essentially a high power switch that can be used to control AC and DC devices alike. You do not have to use it, but it is a nice option to have. You can control lights, an electromagnetic lock, an actuator, etc. The relay only turns on when the game is won. Otherwise, it is always in the off state. If you want instructions on how to use this relay, we can provide any information that you require.
The video manual:
There is so much to say about this set. Everything is covered in the above video manual. Make sure to have a gander!
